Can't hardly wait

65 days until the Olympics!!!!! I *HEART* the summer Olympics. Sure, the winter Olympics have some high points - and they do provide some sustenance during the long wait between SO's, but they just aren't the same. Seeing Katie Couric wrapped up in 8 layers of clothes to interview snowboarders doesn't seem as energizing as watching the summer athletes bounce around athlete's village.

I love a bunch of summer events (diving, swimming, synchronized swimming, basketball, softball, oh - the list goes on and on and on), but I follow Gymnastics the most closely- like, all the time. I have several sites bookmarked - college, national, international. I must have been a gymnast in a former life - hopefully I haven't been reincarnated now because of some tragic vault accident - but regardless, I don't know where this fascination comes from. I did a little gymnastics as a kid but not much. I guess I think it's kind of amazing what they can do with their bodies. I would never, in a million years, be able to get my body to do those things. I pull a hamstring picking my laundry off the floor. Not to mention all the human drama behind it all. Perhaps that's what did it - all of those little background stories NBC did/does about their lives. Or lack thereof. I still grieve for Kristie Phillips and Vanessa Atler.

Well, in terms of binkie, we're taking some time apart. I apparently removed Binkie from my head in the middle of the night yesterday (I have no recollection of this) and last night I decided I just needed a good night's sleep, and binkie doesn't foster that (yet). I suppose I'll try again tonight. Maybe we can work things out.
