What is that big yellow orb?

Today this natural phenomena they call "the sun" is visible in Seattle, AND it isn't raining. I'm so giddy I don't quite know what to do with myself.

Well, of course, as soon as I saw the sun, I had to get outside. It was like crack. Not that I've used crack, but from what I hear... this was like that.

So I decided to go for a stroll on Alki beach and use my very fun new camera (thanks, Santa!) to document some of the more interesting aspects of a sunny winter day in Seattle.

But first, every stroll starts with a parking garage.

Hello Mr. Seagull!

Where's Wald... er, the Space Needle?

Careful, the rip tide is deadly.

When sleeping on the sidewalk, make sure to lie with your feet towards the space needle.

Community process resulted in a stand off between the asphalt, concrete, square, and rectangle factions. Compromise:

When raining, do not fish, swim and dump sewage at the same time.

"Oh, 30 years ago or so there was a rash of lamp post burglaries. We put this here chain on to make sure it stayed put. Just never got around to taking it off."

This path is for falling Chinese unicyclists.
