For last week and a half I've checked the web - sometimes several times a day - to see if they found this little girl. Something about her abduction really pained me. I think it's something about the look in her eyes. And the fact that this happened while I and my friends, as well as millions of others, enjoyed the fireworks. The same ones she probably was excited to see. As each day passed I just wanted more and more for her to be okay. I guess when there's no news, you hold out hope that in the end things will be okay. And I've been sad all day, because it wasn't.

This shouldn't happen in our world, to our children. But it does. And it doesn't make sense.
I guess I just want to honor her in some way, and ask everyone to keep her family in your hearts.
